how stories build loyalty.
You want to be a cult brand? Every cult started with a damn compelling story. Well. Some start with kidnapping. Also a tactic you could try. Not one I could help you with. I don’t see why the kids should have all the naps, honestly.
Tell stories that align with the identity people want to have, and they will be so intrinsically linked to your brand, it will physically hurt them to go anywhere else.
tips for building brand loyalty through presentation stories.
start with why.
Why do you do what you do? What do you stand for? If you can line your why up with your audience’s picture of themself, how they want others to see them and their world view - it’s a done deal.
We all need to wake up. To reject business as usual and demand unusual, unconventional, exceptional, raw, new. Be brave. Fight mediocrity. Don’t back down. Be a fucking legend.

give them a tribe.
Connect them to something bigger than themselves and give them a tribe. Be the conduit between your audience and others like them. Satisfy their need to belong. Building a community around your brand’s story is about fostering engagement, dialogue, and connection. Encourage your customers to share their own stories, celebrate milestones together, and connect over shared values.
When your customers feel like they’re part of something bigger—a movement, a tribe, or a family—they’ll stick around. Brands like Harley-Davidson and Red Bull have done this incredibly well, cultivating a sense of community through shared experiences.
stay on track.
make them the hero.
Think about the stories you love. Are they about the hero overcoming obstacles? Facing challenges? Struggling to reach their goals? Your customers face these same challenges in their daily lives, and your brand can be the vehicle to help them overcome these struggles.
Take Apple, for example. Their “Think Different” campaign didn’t focus on the product features; it focused on the idea of empowering individuals to change the world. In that story, the customers were the heroes, and Apple was the mentor that gave them the tools to bring their vision to life. By making your customers the central character, you tap into the most powerful force on earth - ego.
dose them in happy chemicals.
Tell stories that evoke emotion, that tap into universal human experience. If you can make them feel, you can pull at our junkie nature, our need to feel that good again. Better, even. More. Give me more.
Brand loyalty is deeply rooted in brand trust. Obviously, try not to be a prick. That’s probably the number one tip for protecting trust. But, after that, make sure all your messages stay true to your brand purpose. After you write anything, ask yourself if it’s getting you a step closer to your ultimate goal.
Consistency doesn’t mean saying the exact same thing over and over again—it means staying true to your brand’s identity and telling a cohesive story across all platforms. If your message is clear, consistent, and aligned with your values, customers will trust your brand—and that trust is the foundation of loyalty.
Okay, now go and do some good old fashioned brainwashing.
